The lodge that floats

Nootka Sound Resort is tied to the shore of Galiano Bay rather than built on it. Three nights, a private ensuite, thirty hours of guided water, and a sound sheltered enough to fish on the days the open coast says no.

About Nootka Sound Resort

Nootka Sound Resort is a floating lodge at Galiano Bay, one of three properties run by Nootka Marine Adventures on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It sells fixed three- and four-night packages rather than nightly rooms. Every package includes a private suite with an ensuite for two, a hot breakfast, boxed lunch, appetisers with beer and wine, a three-course dinner, a 24-hour snack bar, provincially regulated fish processing and daily housekeeping. Guided packages add two or three full days on the water with two anglers to a boat; bring-your-own-boat packages cost roughly half and include moorage. Rental boats from 18 to 24 feet are available for guests fishing unguided, and moorage for private boats runs $50 a night. The water inside the sound is sheltered enough to fish when the open coast is not, and the resort keeps kayaks and paddleboards for days when nobody wants to fish.
