How this site is paid

Enquiries

The Wilderness Ledger is funded by the operators it lists, who pay for a qualified enquiry. When you ask about availability, a person reads it and it goes to that one operator. Travellers pay nothing and the site takes no commission on a trip. Nothing an operator pays changes what is on the record about them.

Client relationships

Many of the places listed are clients of Ben Taft's photography and film work, and in some cases a stay was part of that commission. That is how he came to be there, it is stated on the About page, and it does not put a place on the list: plenty of clients are not on it.

Gear links

There are currently no affiliate links on this site. If that changes, gear links will be marked, every page carrying one will say so at the top, and this page will be updated first. Only gear Ben has actually used will ever be linked.
