Yurts at the end of the road

Two hours west of Campbell River, past Strathcona and Gold River, the pavement runs out at a marina on Nootka Sound. Moutcha Bay is the only one of the three Nootka Marine resorts you can drive to, and the only one that works for a party where not everybody fishes.

About Moutcha Bay Resort

Moutcha Bay is the road-accessible member of the Nootka Marine Adventures group and the one that works for a mixed party. It is about two hours west of Campbell River through Strathcona Park and Gold River, on the shore of Nootka Sound, and it sells accommodation by the unit rather than as a fishing package. Ten waterfront cedar yurts sit on the beach, alongside waterfront chalets, two-storey lodge suites and 24 serviced campsites with washhouses. Breakfast is included with the suites, yurts and chalets; the licensed Conuma Grill handles dinner. A full-service marina supplies fuel, moorage, tackle and the group's guided and rental boat fleet, so anglers can fish guided, rent a centre console and fish alone, or skip fishing entirely for kayaking or the playground. Pets are welcome in some units.
